Default Time For Some New Plastic And A Helmet!

We have a brand new track within 45 minutes of our house and the very first race was held yesterday, 4-23-06. They had an over 40 class but the doc still strongly discourages me from riding as my fibula is not quite grown back together. I took jr. and he entered the 125 Novice class. He looked VERY strong in practice and 125 Novice was the first race of the day. Here he is exactly one lap before a concussion.

Here's his start.

He had a couple of bobbles and found himself fighting to get up front. He aired out the finish line jump in what seemed a certainty to pass two riders only to have one of them swerve directly into his landing zone. The resulting crash left Dad with a huge rush of fear and acceptance that he would be leaving in an ambulance. He was on the ground for the entire moto and they even delayed the start of the second moto. We finally got him up and off the track so the races could continue. No broken bones! Just a headache that lasted several hours and a broken bike. Don't worry, guys. This helmet is already in the trash!

The bike needs a little maintenance as well.

This is a tough sport. Time to spend some more money.:

Wow! Hey man, I'm glad Clint is not worse. The pendulum swung his way that time, from the sound of it. It's the freak accidents that su*k the worst to accept. At least when it's something YOU did, a lesson can be learned. Being waxed by chaos is a tough one to take...MX thesarus..: Moto X = Chaos
Can't really seperate the two:
Glad he is ok.
p.s. Ditch the bike plastic but, don't throw away the helmet! Wipeouts deserve trophys too

Clint says he might keep it as a spare.: I'm thinking it's useless.

You tell Clint that lid can be a spare alright.....a spare doorstop!

There's no way I'd let him wear that helmet again after getting his bell rung like that.

Sorry..rant mode off. Tell Clint I'm glad he's OK, I'm sure that was a scary moment.

He saved it. Clint hit the bike, not him. He was actually pretty cool about it for being such a dunce. He sat in the corner revving his engine until the flagger finally turned around and noticed a rider down.:
And Satch, you're the LAST person I'd give a pink relic too.

jr. feels great today and has no apparent injuries whatsoever. Oh to be that young again. I remember riding without fear and shrugging off body slams. (a faint memory)

Hey guys!
That was one heck of a crash! The whole moto seems like it was over in about 3 seconds.

Satch, you can have the left shroud if you want it. I'll bring it next time I am going to ride with you.

Thank you all for your concerns.

Wow - that helmet sure took a beating. But that's what it's there for - to protect the head! Sure glad he's okay. Nothing worse than seeing your kid go down and not get up on his own. Are you keeping the helmet as a trophy? Take it easy.

Good to see clint is OK. If you need new plastic, I am dealer for polisport plastics, so let me know and I will PM you some prices.

As to the helmet, the only place for it is in the garbage. I normally take the chain saw to mine to be sure no one else decides to wear it when I toss it in the trash.

Is this new track any good and where is it? I think the NTex crew may need to come up that way sometime.

James,
This track is like any other brand new track. Growing pains.: It's SUPER sandy and they don't really have enough water to make it right just yet. It will happen but not this year. The sand sucks up the limited water they have available so far.
The track owners are young and VERY gung-ho. It may be some place for us to meet in the future. Here is the website. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
As for the plastic, we are going to start shopping soon. I'll PM you. Thanks.
