Found it in the Atlas that I thought we threw away. Trips that make you go....hmmmmm.
Lets do it man...fly in, tear it up and leave the dust behind. Personally, Id be shredding photos, but it sounded good.

For me, a lot of what would happen is subject to our trip plans for this year. Dane's work is still slow so the three stooges (me, Dane, VAL) making the drive is up in the air. I'm afraid if the economy doesn't shape up driving will be out of the question. We'll just have to see what happens as the time gets closer.

I truly enjoyed flying into the Bush on Thursday and getting to spend Thursday evening and the majority of Friday hanging out in the Houston area. I would really like for Russ to come this year and experience the GMB. Driving would take a few extra days and I wouldn't want him to use all of his vacation time for the trip either. If he could go I'd be footing the bill for him too so I would need to plan wisely.

Again, I'll (we'll) just have to see how things are going as the time gets closer.

We all know that about you E. 100%. I'm sure Doc was just being facetious.
I am equally sure the North Texas/Southern Oklahoma crew would love to show you guys our back yard. It will be awesome if it works out. If not, we'll just have to show you some more pics.

October..sounds great! Gives me time to get in some good track time. With a 14 month old I have been pretty limited on the dirt action as of late. I may not have the fanciest of diggs, but if someone needs a spot to crash, the invite is open. Any of you guys ride local here around Dallas? Most of my riding buddies have given up on me, and always looking for some other diehards.

Ride Safe.

I'm not Char but they drove 5 hours one way. I am guessing it's around 2 hours for you. Probably closer to 1 1/2. It's just outside of Nocona, TX if you want to check a Google map. You would love it as it has no "do or die" jumps. You can roll everything or jump whatever you want to.
Thanks Jedi, I looked it up and it's about 271 miles from home, I kinda figured it was up there passed Dallas. It takes me around 3 1/2 to get to Dallas so I believe we're looking at about 4 1/2 to Nocona. Still not too bad of a drive..

Yes. There are no "do-or-die" jumps. You can roll everything if you want. As long as you hold your line, you will love it.

Yes, I've been out there when some pro riders were practicing. Like Jedi says though, all the jumps are safe and as long as you hold your line those guys are good enough to go around you (or triple over you as was my case). I don't know the levels of riders that are planning to attend, but if we have the track to ourselves, it should be pretty easy to ride safely.

I know things change over time and life is tough with the economy. If you guys are still interested I think it'd be a great ride. I bet lots of local ATM'ers would show up. Let me know. It can be set up either day if it fits with you guy's travel plans. If not, it's cool. Trust me, I know how far the drive is.

Since the temps by then should be above 32 (I can't believe Ya'll rode that day) and hopefully below 100, I'll be there if it happens. I havent ridden in a while but I would really like to meet some more of you ATM'ers. I met Char, Daniel and Mr. Pringle @ Freestone a couple of years ago. I've been needing to get "Gertrude" (my bike) out of the barn and blow the sut of her anyway. I live about 20 miles from Nocona MX and have plenty of room (30+ acres) if anybody needs a place to camp or park your rig you are more than welcome.

Trip, any chance you'll make it down for GMB this year? Sounds like Gertrude needs to experience some Splendora dirt.

We will make another Nocona trip, preferably when it's warmer and less windy than last time.

My son and I have tentative plans to come, we'll have to wait and see. The factory where I work has been working short weeks for a while. But we're going to try to make it. I'm sure Gertrude would enjoy a change of scenery.

What?! You didn't know that before?

I have notified Nocona that we no longer wish to rent the track for Friday October 2nd. They were disappointed but maybe there will be another time. Looking forward to seeing you all next weekend at Splendora.
