My First Win in The Enduro Series

Wow oh wow they posted the results from last weekends TWMC Ghost Rider Enduro and I got first place in my class. That also gave me enough points to take First Open Novice for the Year in the Enduro series.

I also wrapped up the Open Novice Best of The West title for the second year in a row! I am so stoked right now. I have to tell you the story about the enduro but that will have to wait until next week I am leaving for the last National Hare & Hound in just a few minutes.

Ok so here is a little more on the enduro. I thought I started it when the count down took place on the start about 2 miles in I look down and it reads 00 oh dang it! I started it and thought no worries I will fast forward the milage to 2.9 at the odo check. Well that was great but it did nothing for the elapsed time. Needless to say I was off so that when we got to the first check we were right ontime on my computer but two minutes late on the checks time. The whole first loop was spent guessing how far off we were.

The next mishap was that I programed a "pause" which is the break between loops however its triggered to start by reaching the milage at the end of the loop. I was late coming off the first loop so the pause started late and I couldn't figure out how to stop it before we took off on the second loop so we are all screwed up on the second loop aswell. This particular race was an inverted format. Meaning the normal format is the easy loop first and the harder loop or loops second and third. This one was the harder loop for A,B and C's only first. Then the easy loop for A,B,C and D's second and if you were an A or B you went on the third loop. I should have zero'd the whole second loop but I didn't I burned (was early) to first and last check on the loop due to computer problems. So there you have it moral of the story never give up just ride it out cause you never know what will happen.
