Default Holy Cow! What a Ride!

I met up with some Oklahoma buds at Woodland Hills Off Road Park today near Anadarko Oklahoma. WHORP has trails as well as MX. The MX track doesn't get much grooming so you just have to take whats there and deal with it. After some fun in the trees we spent quite a few laps on the track. Steve(Oklahomerider) took my little thumper for a few laps. Rode it as well as I do. We had a ton of fun dicing it up and "racing" close. It's good stuff to ride with someone you trust. Got some pics to share.

Randy taking the far inside.

Steve on my bike.

Steve's co-worker.

Just plain fun.

Looks like you had a great time! The Altus crew (minus Mark, he was stuck working) went to Rush Springs. The sand was nice and perfect.

The weather was absolutely perfect! Low 70's and no wind. The type of weather where you work up a pretty good sweat but don't get hot.
Now for the rest of the story as I don't really have any choice. I know it will get told.
Steve and I ran quite a few hot laps at the end of the day. Randy had the camera going and I am thankful for that. He captured some of our fun and some of my unfun.
Like I said, the track doesn't get much grooming. There is this little double that is sort of in a turn and the lip is worn down pretty bad. Immediately following it is a set of rollers that look pretty harmless. After setting Steve up for two laps I hit the little double in 4th extremely hot. I jumped into the rollers and experienced a very quiet float for 55 feet. Minus the bike. Ouch! No broken bones and very thankful! I landed in the softest place possible.

Analyzing the crash.

Watching Steve step it off.

Oh well, for some reason these two pics don't want to show.

Still able to drive home!

Trey ended up crashing. He was going through the sandy whoops, the front tire dug into the sand and over the bars he went. The guy behind him said he flew about 6 feet before doing the tuck and roll. He landed on his shoulder. He was hurting for a while but then remembered he was suppose to go hunting tomorrow then all of a sudden he was fine.

I'm glad you are okay.

That was one of the gnarliest crash that I have ever seen anyone walk away from, I hope it wasn't cause of all the squid juice I got on your bike. Im glad you're ok David.

You looked good on it! I have a pic or two I'll send you guys. I have some fairly large areas of epidermis that seem to be changing color. Still moving a little slow but I'm good. It was a fun ride. See you guys next weekend.
