Pics Frog capital speedway (pics and vid)

We finally got out to the new track 20 min down the road.

They are not open regularly, so it was hard for our schedules to meet.

They have a nice peewee track and an intermediate track that Jude road all day long. Very nice and forgiving built tracks!

Him and his stunts

Anyway, its a great place. They have a HUGE track with many challenges (some forgiving, some NOT!). Lots and lots of doubles. They have a triple set up very similar to the splendora track. It just has a step down on the other side

I even got a little vid of the step up/step down to show you guys. The straight away before the jump is a series of jumps.

In all we had a GREAT and SAFE day!

Man, Jude looks SO comfortable in the air.

Track looks a little hardpacked, but still fun.

20 minutes away? THAT is AWESOME!! Looks like a great day to ride. Is it cooling off down there?
Temps are getting pretty nice here. We race tomorrow with a forecast high of 70.

Well they had a prob with a water line breaking and the last straight didn't get any water. That also happened to be the only hard packed place on the big track. (my favorite)

The rest of the track is tilled up dirt, some places were too muddy in the morning. But it got better as the day went on. They are still figuring out "how to" and "how much" with the water issue. There was also a sandy corner or two and a sandy straight. They do maintain that sucker! They reface the jumps every weekend their open, and till after every practice.

Ill get better track pics next time

They had a huge spout of water shoot out of the ground due to a line busting today while watering. I felt bad for them.

Oh well shoot, I take it back then. I'd love to see pics of the rest of the track. That step up looks cool.

10 minutes away, I bet you'll be there often!

The weather had been AWSOME for riding and camping! A steady breeze too!

Did you guys notice in the vid that guy landed on the 4th hump? The step down side.... Man its like 80-100 feet!

Good luck with your race Jedi

Well 20 minutes.. but heck as often as they will allow!

Im am 100% you would love this place. The layout is so big, and the track has several spots that are deeply shaded. I could go on and on!

They dont have a regular operating schedule and that SUCKS!

They guys work offshore, so they only open when they are in

Like once maybe twice a month.... I need more!

Its the perfect place for me to practice riding in the loose stuff. I HATE the loose stuff! I dont have a plow to loosen up my track. I need to ride in the loose stuff so I wont feel so intimidated by it

Anyway, I hope to go there often! The peeps are really nice, and its so freaking close

That jump is what we call a camel hump. I'm sure there are different names for it depending who you talk to.
Track looks pretty dry but VERY fun!

Well I would guess at least 70-80 riders through out the day.

But on the track at one time there may have been like 30-40... and I still rode! Its so long and spread out, I wasn't too scared to get on the track. I chose a spot between a pack and got on the track.
I was still nervous as heck, but I'm getting better about that

(I think)

I got passed by 2 dudes during my 5 laps. Those guys were hauling butt, and I was slow poke as usual.

Thats just an idea how big the track is.

I need to edit that and make sure it doesn't sound like Im saying I was the 3rd fastest person on the track......

I got on the track behind the fastest guys and I did 5 laps before I was passed by them. NOT because I was/am fast... Because the track is SO long

Hubby made me feel I need to make that clearer

I'm sure you guys knew what I was saying

I been wanting to say this.....

Char, I really think you wouldn't have a problem clearing that triple! Not that my opinion matters or that you care but I thought about you while I watched many riders do it.

I can also gauge by my personal inhibitions (skill & lack of) and seeing how far beyond them you are able to ride.

I's so love to see you do it!
I bet by the 3rd try you have it!
I actually heard it call out your name!

I appreciate the vote of confidence. Honestly though, it takes me a long time to feel comfortable on a jump. That's not really the place I try to make up time.

I don't know about tripling it though... looks like you might need a pilot's license.

Hopefully they'll get their schedule posted up and it'll work out for us to ride there.
