| I decided I couldn't wait any longer to get back out on a bike, and after cleaning my bike up over the winter I finally went and picked up the last missing pieces. Heading home with a container full of gas, transmission oil, coolant, brake fluid, 2-stroke oil, new grips, and a new brake lever, I'm stoked to get all this stuff on. I fill everything up, mix some gas, and fill the tank up. Now I'm out here in 28* weather today, and I havn't started the bike since about october, so I figure I'll probably have some trouble with it. I had drained the gas out in the fall, and the oil/coolant out about a month ago, but did have the gas or anything to get it started. On the 5th kick (yep..only 5 kicks) it roars to life I get back out to the bike and take off for a ride through my trails. It's not too long and half of it was flooded/frozen over, but it was worth it to get out there. I'm riding on normal knobbys and we have about 3 inches of snow on the ground right now, so it was quite slick, but all in all not too bad. I'm not sure I have ever felt that good throwing my leg over my bike before. Just felt like sharing..anyone else in the upper US get out for a ride yet? I wish my bike was ready when we had a few really warm days (about 60* for 3 dyas in a row), but 30* will have to do for now. |

| well i live in eastern canada and i traded my 1000cc two stroke sled for a CRF450r because the weather had been quite mild. So naturally i assumed "VERY WRONGLY" that winter was near done....then we got hit with 48cm's of snow last night....Please keep posting ride stories so i can live vicariously thru you guys....I am just dieing to scare the crap outta myself with that thing and so far up and down 1/3mile of a paved/icy road just isnt doing it. |

![]() I too love California. I can (well my kids and grandkids can) get up in the morning, go surfing, jump in the truck with the bikes, go to the local mountains (right now) and ski or snowboard, get back into the truck and drive down to the desert or a motocross track (395 Cycle park) and go riding, all in the same day. HOWEVER....it's not all a bed of roses...... The worst of the worst...Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein and Nancy Pelosi are all from California........ARRRRRRRGH I hate California. |

| I'd get some pics up myself, however it's sort of hard to get pictures of myself riding when I'm the only one around, not to mention I don't have a decent camera. I'll see what I can do soon though about maybe getting a video or something up. Rig up my old digital camera helmet cam again =D Anyway, got out to ride again today, this time there was much less snow on the ground. It's about 40* out right now, so it was perfect riding weather, just the ground was pure mud/slush. Pretty interesting hitting the throttle and having the back end come around on you that fast! Only had one semi-serious wipe out though, and the only result of it was my handlebars got pushed up in the clamps. Hit the throttle too hard in second and the back end came sliding around. I let off the throttle but it was too late for it to catch again, and myself and the bike slid about 10 feet through the mud and water. Felt pretty soft actually since it was so muddy, but I got soaked and muddy in places I never thought possible! It was fun though |
