Default Cross Creek 11-2-08

Sam and I headed out to Cross Creek MX for the first time this weekend. Its a pretty fun track with trails in the back as well.

We spent most of the day on the main track, which was fairly choppy/beat up. It was lots of fun, but tired you out quickly (good practice).

Anyways, I finally got my helmet camera to work late in the day and took a few laps to test it out. The raw footage looks decent, but YouTube reduced the quality quite a bit.

Here's the footage:

Sweet vid! Track looks pretty cool but very hard packed...youre in TX, right? I didnt think you guys had hard pack down there, LOL. Just a suggestion with the vid. raise it up a bit so we could see more of whats in front of you. Did you notice the weight at all?

There are a few hard packed tracks around, this one is in central Texas rather than near the coast (not sure if the other central TX tracks are hard or not). It was actually muddy early in the day and it dried and got hard after the sun got to work on it.

I agree, I need to play with the camera angle a bit. Next time I should bring my laptop so I can see what the angle looks like before I get home. I can't even feel the camera up there (Go Pro Helmet Hero). The footage from the camera looks pretty decent for its size/cost. YouTube did a good job of making it look grainy though.
