Default CRF Jedi is hunting now.

To start off Jedi and I decide to race a crosscountry race at Lake Draper in OKC last weekend. He said he will pick me up around 5-6am sunday to head out.
I get a call from him that morning saying hes going by Walmart before he comes by.So I jump up and start throwing my gear and stuff in the driveway so Jedi wont have to wait.

So Im walking back and fourth and I see headlights well one!!!!
It was Jedi.so I start carrying my stuff to his trailer and he gets out with this stunded look'white face' and says I just hit a deer.I thought he was jacking with me,so I said where,he said it was about a block away from my house.
We rushed to get every thing on the trailer and suv.I want to see this deer he hit.It was about 15 minutes till we get back to the seen. There was blood and guts all over the road ;no deer;We looked for parts of his grill and turnlights. No luck.

We head on to OKC to the race.Jedi then ask when our race is,I said it was at 12:30pm ...He says what why are we getting here so early. Then he found out we were the workers that morning helping with the track set up.

The race went great ,we all had a great time. Thanks Jedi for the ride.

There is more I hope he adds to this thread.

Now that blows. Glad the riding and racing was fun, but hitting a deer is not something I ever want to have happen.

I actually had a deer run into ME a few weeks ago. I was driving down the road and see something out of the corner of my eye, then hear a thud. The deer ran into my rear door of my car - luckily I wasn't a split second slower or it would have been in front of my car. It must have been trying to turn around or slowing down already because no damage was done to my car and it was running back across the street when I looked in my rear view.

Glad you're OK Jedi, hitting a deer can be dangerous.

Its not uncommon at the places I ride to have deer run along beside you in the woods or cross the trail in front of you.
I have never hit on with my truck before, but have seen the damage they can cause. Glad your OK.

Funny you should mention that, E. That's exactly what we got out of the deal. But certainly not from any effort on my part. Batman and I were in a hurry and had over an hour to drive. We really wanted to get a practice lap in so I just kept on going when I smacked the deer. There was a car coming towards me and it happened to be a young lady who called her boyfriend. The boyfriend was with Clint and they were just heading out to go duck hunting about a mile away. So my son went and picked up the deer within about 10 minutes. At that time, he didn't know who hit the deer and Batman and I were puzzled that it was gone so quickly. Well, Clint made jerky out of it and brought me some. As we were eating the jerky, the story unfolded and we laughed hard at the irony. So yeah, I got to eat some of the little sucker that smashed up my grill.

Grueling, as with most x-country races. However, it was a benefit race with no points at stake. 14 mile loops and pretty tight. I only went down once in 2 hours. Batman on the other hand, I think he found a new entrance to a canyon.
