Default 4-13-08 Pretty Darn Good Ride in Oklahoma!

The Oklahoma crew met up at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] again today. Sixty degrees and plenty of sunshine. Oklahoma rider and crew came down and the total crew was 11 strong. All a great bunch of guys! With a couple of nasty weather masses moving through last week we weren't sure what to expect. I think they got 6 inches of rain one night. The MX track was pretty much non-ridable. Several areas of the track had wheel-deep wash outs and the faces as well as the landings were so rutted it was just plain dangerous. That track is gonna require a ton of work. We took a couple of laps on it and hit the trees. This is a familiar course to us but a few of the lines were definitely changed due to the recent hard rains. It was great practice in placing your front wheel exactly where you want it. The real bonus was that there was ZERO dust! We still had the fun little creek jump and the dirt held plenty of moisture over the entire course. It wasn't one of my better days but I still got plenty of seat time and kept the crashes to a minimum. A tree reached out and grabbed my throttle arm once and jerked me off the back of the bike. Got slapped down on my right side once but didn't feel anything until just about an hour ago. Here's a shot of our pits.

Wherever riders gather, there is ALWAYS bench racing.

Usually a little maintenance to be done.

Being as how we rode the cross country course all day, there are no riding pics. This one is just before we headed out for our last ride. It's great to have a good group to ride with.

Sounds like you had fun...and that is all that counts!! Green grass in the pits...just don't see to much of that out this way.
