The reports will be forth coming. We still have Red Bud tomorrow. I will give you a quick run down. The crew that has been involved so far exhibits varying degrees of riding skill. However, there is no judgement passed around. We are who we are and it is awesome hanging out with guys and gurls that just appreciate the ride.
Personally, I had a fairly large amount of maintenance issues with the 613 but all problems are resolved for Red Bud. It's a long story that can be told later but many thanks to everyone for lending a hand. yznutt and Doc helped a ton and I must say, MotoMan has some awesome tools! We can talk more about that later.
I met so many different people that I can't keep them apart. There were lots of local crew that arent' ATM members. But there were also a few members I had never met before. Whiteynocar and mxx165 come to mind. I know there are others but please understand, I am wiped out. Need to hit the sack. Got a big day tomorrow.
Best of all, nobody had any major accidents. And there was lots of air involved at our ride at the facility today. It was just plain good fun.

There will be reports with pics in the next few days.

I'll try and post some of my pictures. I don't know who everyone is but the photos speak for themselves...there where some seriously good riders there, and I was not one of them, I mean I was there but not any good!

here's a few more

---------- Post added at 10:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:39 PM ----------

I took some more most of my kids but I'll try ad post the rest.

I just wanted to say thanks to Jim for having us out. My kids had a great time and I enjoyed watching them.

And thanks for not laughing at me, in front of me, for my efforts, I probably deserved it. this was my 1st time on a track on 2 wheels, and I didn't know how different a bike would feel instead of a quad. I imagine I felt like I was getting a whole lot more air than I actually was, but it was definately fun.

Thanks again and I can't wait to see more photos!

Had a great time at the MMI this year. In the past, I wasnt able to do as much riding as I wanted, kids, snow, broken bike, etc...This year I was able to do quite a few laps and began feeling comfortable out there. Although I wasnt able-not even close to attempting-the 90footer, I conquered a couple of the other jumps out there. The track is incredible! That thing has come a long way, thanks to the blood sweat and tears of the Howe crew. Our very own Jedi cleared the 90footer without even batting an eye...an amazing feat especially if youve ever stood at the face of that baby and all you see is sky. Im certain all those that attended can attest to the fact that the track photos dont convey the steepness of the faces. Char Char gets faster and faster each time I see her. She played with me for a few laps, following me around, and I folded at each turn from the pressure. Hersch knocked out the K jump to double table...talk about bad arse! I have the sequence of him "testing" it out and then hitting it. It was nice to meet 6pack, CCNut, YZnut and Whitey, although I didnt get to talk to him much, he was kind of busy with his kids. Bigtree was killing the whoops/rollers as bad as anyone out there, even the fast guns that showed up. Ill start the photos with the kids of MMI.

1-Carson, Shoup's son. after not riding much the first day, he TORE up the yard with laps today.

2-Corie-which Im sure is spelled wrong, SORRY! For just starting out this, girl was tearing it up. Put in so many laps in the two days Im sure she's learned the meaning of monkey butt.

3-Jace..ticked me off all day long! I tried everything I could to get around the kid, finally I had to resort to cutting the track. Amazing as to how much faster and more fearless he's gotten.

Lessons in jumping a huge triple for the first time...Hirsch was the first to attempt this jump, the K jump and two doubles, spaced very close together. There was little room for error. Anyway this was one of 3 practice runs. After this, he landed the 1st double on the downslope. Then he attempted the full jump but flat landing it to the side of the 2nd double.

oooooohhhhhhhhh....that landing shot looks brutal....if not on the rider then for sure for the bike. I just never could push myself to really attempt the jumps.....Trial AND error don't bother me so much as just the error itself. Besides....when I fall it hurts more than it used to when I was a kid. Definately some cool pics though!

I just got home from Redbud and it was the best ive ever seen the track on a practice day. Shar and Jedi both doubled Larrocos leap with ease. Motoman and i had a great lil battle for a few laps. Id say it was the most fun day of riding for me in a long time. Big props to Tim,Amy and the crew at RedBud for turning the track around after the morning quad race. Like i said it was awesome. To all that missed this years MMi!!! I suggest you make it next year. Things will be bigger and better.

Need to send that picture to your suspension guy and ask him how come his setup didn't suck it up?

Glad he was able to ride off from that one another foot or so it could have been ugly....

Thanks for sharing,,,

This is Al. Al's friend is Hersch. Hersch isnt content being the only one to put his life on the line. Hersch feels compelled to help Al stretch his own limits. Al, like a good friend, listens to Hersch. This was the save of the weekend. Al told me he thought about bailing 1/2 way thru the jump which wouldve been disastrous. This was doubling over the 2 tables. Nice save Al.

1-theres the little voice in Al's head, watching him at takeoff.

great job with the pics everyone! nice series shots doc! despite the weather i think things turned out great. i was a bit worn out from a lack of sleep due to switching to third shift a month ago. by saturday i was pretty much hit and slept rite through sunday morning an missed the ride to red bud. i was told i missed one heck of a day. it was great to see george, char and jedi again. along with a few new faces. we started the riding friday afternoon. george came rite off the trailer jumping most the jumps on the track. by saturday morning we had quite a few riders. char was here and ready to put the pressure on doc. jedi was ready to jump everything on the track and without a doubt in my mind would have. if he had'nt developed the washer issue. when he did finaly get on the track, he hit the 90' table top first. that man didnt drive here to talk any crap! char seems to look smoother every time i watch her ride. we never did do the grudge matches but im sure she would have put doc back on the trailer. lol! sorry george. she along with george were both jumping the new table to table top that hersh designed for this years event. sikspack was overcoming a shoulder injury but turned quite a few laps. ccnut and yznut came into a new element riding on an mx track. you could tell they were getting more comfortable as the day went on. im sure they woke up sunday feeling some new muscles. lol! great job guys! whitey shown up early afternoon with the kids ready to moto and thats what they did. whitey even laced up to take his new cr around the facility. then pulls in the viamin water sprinter van following nick a local fast guy that finished third at lorettas in the 25+ class last year. its amazing to watch nick fly around this track as smooth as he does. eddy was turning fast laps as well and i had a blast trying to hang with them until my cluch just would'nt take any more. even though jim is now my neighbor i have to thank him for letting me pretty much live in his back yard the last four years. i think what we have all done to that track is something to be proud of! hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we do!
