Thanks for the tip. I'm only a few minutes from there and I could use a break from working on the Greeves to maybe see one running.
I am curious though- LACR closed a couple years ago and their website a couple minutes ago says the same thing. I guess they can open the gates for an occaisonal special event?

I checked today when I was in the area. The MX races are in the same place they have always been on the property but LACR the business, (drag strip) is closed.
I'm going. If the wife doesn't have to go I'll ride the XL there.

I hope this event has a great turnout. I'm a little far off to make it but I'll think about you guys when I'm riding this weekend.
Post up how the event turned out. I'd love to be closer to a large population of dirt bikers.

Well, Saturday's event was cancelled so I only made a couple passes through the pits then went truck shopping in Victimville and Desperia. Don't know if I can make tomorrow's deal.

The dirt bikers we have around here are pretty freakin' awesome even if we are smaller in number.
However, if I were so inclined to roll, I'd think about rolling west.

As you see from earlier this post, the AHRMA event scheduled for Saturday was poorly attended and had to be cancelled and the Saturday nights CRC Hot Summer Nights race was only marginally attended but.

The AMA SoCal MX event hosted by the Desert Daisies (RETURN to RACING) was a hit, everyone had a great time despite the 103* temperatures and was a good turnout without any bad injuries which is always a plus. Racing was awsome as many of the fast local pros that didnt go to Mammoth came out to the Daisies race for Sunday.

Honolulu Hills this weekend coming for AMA SoCal MX Series rounds three and four, Gary Jones Racing Clinic Sat morning (10:00-2:00), Taft MC Hosting the series night race Saturday nite and HBMC will be hosting the Best of the West / Lots happening in just two days but should be well managed and a great time to be had by all at the oil field hills above Taft.

See:

for more details.

Hope to see you all this weekend coming up.
Cheers, Chris Johnson / AMA SoCal MX Series Chairman
