Ok, I got my son his 50. He was having fun with it for about 30 minutes, and then hit the gas a little hard sending him to the ground. Brought a tear to my eye watching him. Ah....... memories. Anyways, I know all the newer 50's for the little people have throttle limiters that can be adjusted to rid this problem. Where can I find one that I can put on his bike? Anyone have a clue?

Nobody likes me, everyone hates me, guess I'll eat some worms. Come on people. I know somebody out there can tell me what for. It's a 1997 KTM 50 automatic Need to chill the bike out a bit so he has a chance to learn. Beside new training wheels, I need a governor or power limiter of some sort. I'm sure I could modify it with a thumb throttle like MCP did his bike, or with a differrent throttle assembly off another 50. Everybody go Hmmm..........................

While some of the entry level bikes have throttle limiters, the performance ones don't. Should you need a throttle stop, cut some tubing (brass, plastic, whatever) and place it between the slide and the top of the carb. Instant throttle stop. When my son started riding his KTM I was planning on using just such a stop. What I've found is that kids figure out stuff really quick; they learn throttle control in a hurry. KTMtalk.com has it's own section for KTM minis, and some really good advise from other semi-insane 50cc parents.

Glad to hear you snatched that bike up. As you could tell I was drooling over it. Get registered (if you haven't already) and start posting in the mini forums on KTMTalk.com, they will have plenty of info for you.
