| Ok, I got a lot of great help in the what bike form, and I ended up with an 03 KTM 200MXC. For those who did not see the other thread, I am a big guy 6'3" 330. For starters the fork Springs and settings were setup for a 300lb guy, so I should be ok there. The back springs will have to be changed, that will be one thing I do for sure. The bike has a new frame, fresh top end and a new stock exhaust. I was thinking a new aftermarket pipe and silencer will be some other good additions, but what else would you suggest? I have about 2k to spend on the spring, pipe & silencer and any other aftermarket parts. This will likely be the only money I will have to spend on the bike for quite a while, so I want to get what I can now. With that 2k I also need a helmet, boots, gloves, goggles, etc. Since I just will be casually trail riding, I don't see the need for a full MX suit. Hit me with some suggestions! |

| Congrats on the new scoot! From what I hear youll be happy with your decision. Be aware, you may still need to change fork springs for your weight. 30 lbs is a big difference, but then again, alot will depend on how you ride. Personally, good deals can be had on last year's pants and jerseys so Id def go with that. A pair of good handguards, a good helmet, gloves and boots and youre all set. As far as the pipe/silencer, thats a personal option, Id personally forego them since theres no need for your use. Another thing that gets rave reviews for tree dodging is a Rekluse clutch. You may look into something like that. OK, enough of being nice, time to get nasty. Where in the #@$$ are the pics?! LOL |
