Default KTM 65 Have a few questions

WEll lets see who can help me out..

Sooo i have the opertunity to pick up a ktm 65 for 100 bucks... looks like its in good shape suspension, tires, bars, plastics, allll good.. butt it nees a pistion and ring and the cylinder has score marks in it.. and after doing research i found out that they are nickaseal? or maybe something else but i do know that they are coated.. is there some way that i can CHEAPLY rebuild it? i looked at cylinders and they are pricy.. and to recoat it i dont think its worth it. im lost on what to do.. and i also have no idea what year it is. how can i tell? any help would be much apperiated ThANKS guys hopefully ill get as much info as i got for my 2002 cr.

If you dont buy it I will! Even worse case senario finding a new jug should not be all that expensive. That should be no problem to get it replated. I would say go for it!! At $100 it sounds like a steal. There should be no way you would be in this more than a couple hundred bucks. Just my 2 cents though.

If you haven't already bought the 65, I would log no to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] & go to the mini section & ask the same question there!

They also have a classifieds section where you might be able to find a cylinder.



Last time I heard about a cylinder being replated it was something like $200.

at this price you cannot loose money. Take it apart if needs be and sell it.

Yaa I hear ya. i was just looking at it for fiancee and hopeing to just drop 1/200 bucs.. but now im looking at 500? just not too sure Wondering if its the right bike for her. i mean hell id love it for me..haha I have rode those before and they rip. I know its not going anywhere soo il sit on it for a wile.. o ya and the other bummer. No Title.. soo to just buy it and resell it probaly would not make to much profit..

ya see the problem with that e bay cylinder is it needs ringed and honed.. SAMe position i am in. needs replated PLUS machine work,piston, and rings...

I just got my youngest boy a KX65. I ride a KX500. The 65 scares the sh!t out of me. It's not a great bike for a beginner. He's been riding for three years.

I just bought my g/f a TTR125. It's Perfect! Buy the right bike and she'll love to ride. Buy the wrong one and it could turn her off.
